06 Last Australian Dollar

207 words

A few years ago, I went to Australia with my friends. We rented a car and drove around Queensland. Our plan was to continue sightseeing as long as possible. If we *ran out of money, we would go home.

We went in December, which is summer time in Australia. It was so hot that we often drove with the windows open. This was the only way to keep cool while driving.

The trip was great. We watched a rugby game and went snorkeling on the Gold Coast. After a few weeks, my friend Jason ran out of money. He decided to go home at the next stop in Brisbane.

My other friends and I were surprised. We thought Jason had a lot of money because he was always buying expensive foods. However, he opened his wallet and showed us his last Australian dollar bill.

Just then, a hot gust of wind blew through the car. Jason's last dollar bill left his hand and flew out of the car. It was lost forever. Now, he really had no money. At first, we were shocked. Then we started to laugh. Even Jason was laughing.

The next day we said "goodbye" to Jason at the airport and continued our sightseeing.
