Dear Mom,
Greetings from Athens! I'm writing to you from my hotel. I can't believe I'm finally in Athens! Even though it's very hot here, it is a wonderful feeling to be in Greece. There is so much history here!
This city is amazing. On Monday afternoon, I went to the Natural History Museum in the city center. As a history major, it was so exciting to see all of the things that I've been studying about in my classes.
I went shopping in the Plaka on Tuesday morning. The Plaka is a famous shopping neighborhood. I bought a new shirt and some souvenirs for my friends back home.
Tonight, I went to a Greek taverna. A taverna is a kind of Greek restaurant which serves traditional Greek foods. I had a salad with Greek cheese and grilled fish for dinner. The food was so fresh and delicious!
I try to speak Greek wherever I go, but many of the people here speak English. I got lost on Tuesday afternoon, but a taxi driver helped me find my way.
Well, I'm very tired from my *adventures. I'll write again soon!
Wish you were here,
Your son
