Location

Takatsuki-Minami High School is located in Takatsuki City. Takatsuki is about halfway between Osaka and Kyoto, about 30 minutes from each by train. The population of Takatsuki is around 360,000 people, many of whom work in Osaka or Kyoto. Takatsuki is surrounded by mountains, and full of natural beauty. People in Takatsuki can go fishing or have a barbeque in Setsu-Kyo, a picturesque area by the Akuta River. For the slightly more adventurous, a hike up Mt. Pon-Pon is a great way to spend a day. Takatsuki is known throughout Japan for its gardening. While Takatsuki is primarily a suburb of its two larger neighbors (Osaka and Kyoto), it also has an industrial side of its own, as Matushita (Panasonic) has a large Takatsuki factory. Historically, Takatsuki is the hometown of Takayama Ukon, one of the first Christian governors of Japan, who ruled Takatsuki in the 16th Century A.D.
