Hello everybody. My name is Park MinJu. Nice to meet you. First of all,
I want to confess that I can’t speak Japanese. I’m very sorry that I haven’t
studied Japanese much so far, but I’m now trying hard to enable myself
to communicate with you – even if it maybe only basic Japanese.
Then, I want to introduce myself to you just simply. As you know, I’m from Korea. I go to Daewon Foreign Language High school in Seoul, and soon I will become a second year student in March. Let me tell you a little about my school. My school has five different language groups according to their classes – which is German, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese. I study Chinese there. All of us have to start learning Japanese in our second year. So many of us are already accustomed to Japanese.
The next thing I want to tell you is about me. My hobby is watching TV, and playing piano. I also like to search the Internet, and watch Taiwanese television serial dramas on the Internet. It’s because I have been studying Chinese very hard and I’m very interested in Chinese. Anyway, Did you know that many of your country’s dramas, such as “Man better than flower”, have been broadcasting in Chinese in Taiwan? After seeing most of them, I came to be interested also in Japan, because they were originally Japanese dramas. And then I made a determined decision to study Japanese so that I can see Japanese dramas by myself.
When I first came to Japan, I was scared of being a stranger in a foreign country so I wanted to go back home, but now I’m trying hard to enjoy ‘Japan’ itself which is very different from my country, Korea.
And last of all, I hope you and I would be able to spend these three weeks very pleasantly in this school. This is the end of my short speech, and thank you for listening!
