Mikunigaoka High School SGH The Research Presentation Event in 2018
We held a research presentation event on February 11, 2018. Our second-grade students have been acquiring knowledge and skills required for their research since their first year of high school. In addition, through field works held in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. and in Manila, the Philippines, our students have started working on BOP business plans set in the Philippines. Narrowing of the gap between rich and poor is an extremely difficult problem to solve for high school students, however, they went to companies to collect data and repeated experiments at the laboratory to create their products.
Many professors attended the event including Professor Yukio Ikemoto (the University of Tokyo), Mr. Syunji Nagai (Representative of Daiei Consulting), Professor Yasuyuki Kono (Kyoto University), Professor Keiko Nishino (Kwansei Gakuin University) among others. Even though the professors asked scores of questions and made their critical comments, the students managed to answer those questions based on their research. This surely became a great stimulus to the juniors as well.
