April 1873 | Founded as a European-style school at Namba Mido in Osaka’s Higashi Ward. |
August 1877 | Re-established as Osaka Prefectural First Secondary High School |
April 1889 | Moved to the new school building at Dojima in Osaka’s Kita Ward. The school emblem (rikuryo, or six-pointed star) was adopted. |
April 1902 | Moved to the new school building at Kitano Shibata-cho in Osaka’s Kita Ward. Renamed Osaka Prefectural Kitano Secondary High School. |
April 1931 | Moved to the current location |
June 1945 | School buildings partially destroyed in air raids |
April 1948 | Renamed, Osaka Prefectural Kitano Senior High School. Began exchange of teachers and students with Otemae Senior High School |
October 1973 | Donated plum trees to Osaka Castle Park in celebration of the school’s 100th anniversary |
November 2003 | Completed construction of the current school buildings. Celebrated the school’s 130th Anniversary |
