１年生の英文の暗唱大会が１１月１８日に実施されました。三週間前より、１年生全員が課題文の暗唱に取り組み、英語の授業を中心に代表を選ぶ予選会を行ってきました。各クラスでまずは４人を選考、さらにクラスの代表になる者を１名を選出しました。こうした予選を進めて、決勝大会に出場したのは各クラス代表の７名。大会は最初にキング牧師のスピーチが収録されたビデオが上映され、校長挨拶、審査員の採点基準、優勝カップ「桂杯」やメダルの紹介などがあり、徐々に緊張感が高まる中、各代表のスピーチが始まりました。
もちろん、司会の生徒も英語で進行。その他の生徒もクラス代表を静かに応援しました。

It is a dream deeply rooted in the American Dream.
