The Last Day in Brisbane⑤

When we arrived at the market, my host mother's friends, two sisters were there. They were full of energy and kindly spoke to us. The Brisbane River was sparkling in the morning sun, and it was so beautiful. The distant city skyline of buildings, vibrant green trees, and the blue sky created a wonderful, refreshing morning! At the market, I had apple pie and pumpkin quiche for breakfast. The clerks were all friendly and asked us where we were from, which was very enjoyable. The market had fresh vegetables and colorful flowers, which made walking around so much fun. We drank a mixed juice of apple, carrot, and ginger, and had brownies. We ate so much, and everything was delicious!

After we got home, my host mother and her daughter gave me a mug with a koala on it. We also gave them a thank-you card and a letter. It really hit me that this was the end, and I felt very sad.

In the afternoon, we went to the city with the Japanese teacher from Holland State Park High School. The view from the top floor of a tall building was amazing, and we could see all of Brisbane. The transparent floor made it look like the road was right below, and it was a little scary. After that, we had hamburgers for lunch! The buns were sweet and delicious! After buying a lot of souvenirs, we went to a famous frozen yogurt shop. The price was determined by weight, and I added almost every topping. It was an indulgent frozen yogurt, and I was completely satisfied! I'm so grateful for all the delicious food.

The teacher was very friendly and easy to talk to, and I was so happy to go out with her on my last day. I can't wait to meet her again in September!

When we got home, it was finally time to say goodbye. Although it was just a short two weeks, I felt so comfortable, like I was at home, so I was very sad. I hugged my host mother goodbye and headed to school. Until the very last moment, I didn't fully feel the reality of the farewell, and I was filled with sadness. As we were about to cry, she encouraged us by saying, "Don't cry! This is just the beginning!" and we were able to say goodbye with smiles. I definitely want to return to Brisbane again!

今日はオーストラリアでの最後の日です。

朝から市場に行く予定なので5時半に起きました。ホストマザーの愛犬の足音と外から聞こえる可愛い小鳥のさえずりで気持ちよく起きることが出来ました。6時頃、車で出発しました。すると、ホストマザーがスペシャルサプライズがあると言って目的地とは違う方向に車を進めました。私たちが大好きな、ホストマザーの娘さんの家に着きました。彼女とも一緒に行くことが出来ます！！一緒に行くことができるとわかってすごく嬉しかったです。

市場に着くと、ホストマザーのお友達の姉妹がいました。2人とも80歳くらいなのにとっても元気で私たちに優しく話しかけてくださりました。朝日にブリスベン川が照らされていてきらきらしていてすごく綺麗でした。大きな原っぱの遠くに見えるビルの街並みと鮮やかな木々の緑、空の青がとても綺麗で気持ち良い朝でした！市場では、アップルパイとかぼちゃのキッシュを朝ごはんに食べました。お店の人は皆さん元気で優しくて、どこから来たの？など話しかけてくださってとても楽しかったです。市場には新鮮な野菜や色鮮やかなお花が並んでいてカラフルで歩き回るだけで楽しむことが出来ました。私たちはりんごとにんじんと生姜のミックスジュースを飲んでブラウニーを食べました。いっぱい食べました！！全部美味しかったです！

家に帰ったあと、ホストマザーと娘さんからコアラが描かれたマグカップを頂きました。私たちからも、お礼の色紙とお手紙をお渡ししました。本当に最後なんだな、と感じてしまってとても悲しかったです。

午後からは、ホランドパーク高校の日本語の先生と一緒に都会に行きまし！高いビルの最上階から見る景色はブリスベンが一望できてとても綺麗でした。下が透けていて道路が見えて落ちそうで少し怖かったです。その後、お昼ご飯にハンバーグをご馳走して頂きました！バンズがあまくて美味しかったです！お土産を沢山買ったあとは、フローズンヨーグルトの有名なお店に行きました。グラム数で金額が決まるようになっていてほぼ全てのトッピングを付けて大満足の贅沢フローズンヨーグルトでした！沢山ご馳走して頂いて感謝でいっぱいです...

先生はとてもフレンドリーで話しやすくて最後の日に一緒に出かけられてとても嬉しかったです！また9月にお会い出来るのが待ちきれません！

家に着くと、いよいよお別れの時です。2週間という短い間でしたがまるで我が家のように居心地が良かったのでとても寂しいです。ホストマザーさんとお別れのハグをして学校に向かいました。最後の瞬間まで、お別れの実感が湧かなくて寂しい気持ちでした。私たちが泣きそうになっていると、泣かないで！これからだよ！と励まして頂いて最後は笑顔でお別れすることが出来ました！また、絶対ブリスベンに戻ってきたいです！
