Summer Fieldwork in 2019 (1)

Hello! I am Moriguchi, a Social Studies teacher.

Though a little late, I will report about our students' activity conducted this summer.

To clarify research questions, our students set about fieldwork in the summer vacation and interviewed with experts in each field.

The VISION3 team visited Ms. Machiko Matsumoto, director of the Washoku Home Cooking Association, who gave a lecture at our school once in May. The students asked her some questions, such as about what she is most careful in offering Washoku to Muslims. She showed halal ingredients and foodstuffs used in her cooking class, which was quite enlightening for the students: seeing is believing. She also talked about what she had felt during her visit to Indonesia. This year, four teams including VISION3 & 4 also visited her. We thank Ms. Matsumoto for taking her busy time.
