Toyonaka High School Students Participated in All Japan High School Forum 2019!

December 24, 2019 17:08

Hello everybody, I am Moriguchi, a social studies teacher.

On December 22 (Sun.) the All Japan High School Forum 2019 was held in the Tokyo International Forum. From our school, "Zero Energy School" team of VISION2 participated in the forum, as I mentioned in my previous blog. The forum started with explanations of the schedule and rules, all in English. During the morning, our students participated in the breakout session on "Natural Environment and our Life." Students from each school divided into groups and discussed the theme of "What we can do to realize a sustainable society." At first our students were a little nervous but gradually relaxed with the coordinator's cheer "Don't hesitate!" and toward the end, they began to interact and exchanged LINE contacts with students from other schools. During the afternoon, a poster presentation session was conducted. Our students did their best to convey the research results, and carefully answered sharp questions from teachers who judged the performance. Listening to various presentations by other students was a good experience for them.

It was a hard day from early morning to late at night, but our students were highly inspired to know how hard other students have been working in their project studies. The VISON2 team is expected to make a presentation in Toyonaka High School Presentation Meeting, so I hope they will make use of this experience.
