Project study: "Recommendation of critical thinking"

Hello! I am Shikata. I am teaching social studies.

Though I have started teaching recently, I am very pleased to be involved in the SGH activity.

School events, such as the midterm examinations and the field day, with which the whole school got really excited, finished. Now I will set out on SGH activity in earnest!

I will introduce a project study for the second grade students (the 6th and 7th classes on Mondays).

We invited Professor Toshio Yoshida from Kansai Gakuin University for two classes of May 11 and June 1, and asked him to lecture on "Recommendation of critical thinking."

Although the term "critical thinking" might be unfamiliar to you, it is a very important skill in proceeding with project studies. This is, however, not to find fault with other persons' thoughts.

The definition of "critical thinking" is an ability to question what you thought previously.

Mr. Yoshida explained "critical thinking" by taking an example:

Let's suppose that someone says, "Do you know Ichiro?...Wow! Nice hit!" you will perhaps imagine a baseball player, Ichiro, who hits the ball nicely.
