It's been a long time since I last contacted you.
I am Shikata, a teacher of civics.
Recently, there was one of the most important events of the Toyonaka High School SGH projects.
It was Overseas Field Work!!
The report will be continued long, so I will make here the 1st report briefly.
It will be separated into three or four parts according to the students' activity in Indonesia.
The theme of the Toyonaka High School's SGH is "the Islamic world." This time study was carried out in Indonesia which has the world's largest population of Muslims.
On the midnight of January 4 (Mon.), we departed for Indonesia from Kansai International Airport and returned home on the early morning of January 9 (Sat.) (a four-day six-night trip).
Eight students participated along with two teachers (Nakagawa & Ida).
Another two teachers joined and guided the students to deepen their study.
- Fair Trade Team
Ms. Emi Omori (Director of Asian Women's Empowerment Project (AWEP))
- Global Environment Team
Mr. Tokihiko Fujimoto (a specially appointed associate professor of Shizuoka University,
Faculty of Agriculture)
Thanks to the two teachers, the students could study much more in depth.
Please look forward to my next report about what they studied!
This time, students, who are investigating "Fair trade" and "Global environment issues," participated, but the itinerary of the two teams was slightly different!
