Report on Fieldwork for Research Project (Part 2)

Hello! I am English teacher Tanba.

Following my previous report, I will report on the 2nd year students' fieldwork, though belated.

The other day, our Fieldwork Group studying Islamic countries' capital punishment visited Amnesty International Osaka Branch.

When hearing the words "Amnesty International," you will think of "abolition of the death penalty." This organization advocates for human rights, working on various problems in the world, such as women's human rights, refugee problems, etc.

This visit made us rethink about the history of death penalty and its problems, though we have few opportunities to think about death penalty in our daily life.

The other group visited Daikin Industries Ltd., a world's famous air-conditioner maker, employing one Muslim. They told us how they respond to the Muslim eating habit and religious restrictions while answering our questions politely.

I think this was a valuable occasion for the students.
