CHS来校時の当日のレポート

CHS来校の際に、午後のアクティビティの司会をしてくれた英語科教員による当日のレポートです。

On May 29th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Christian High School (CHS)
students from Singapore into our school. It was a very exciting day where both
Toyonaka High School students and CHS students could not only learn about
culture, but become friends as well.

In the morning, the CHS students attended some of our normal lessons. In the
English classes, both the CHS students and the Toyonaka students were able to
work together using English. I was very impressed by how outgoing and brave the
CHS students were to meet so many new students and work in a group. In the
physics class, I observed the Toyonaka students doing their best to translate
difficult Japanese words into English. A physics lesson taught in another
language seemed to be difficult, but I was moved by the efforts of Toyonaka
students to support the CHS students.

After lunch, the CHS and Toyonaka students worked in groups to take a Japanese
culture quiz and then together built a bridge from cardboard. Everyone worked
so hard in building their bridges. The atmosphere in the room was very lively,
positive, and everyone had a great time. In the end, due to impressive teamwork
four of the nine bridges were able to withstand at least 96 kilograms!

Finally, we all took a picture together to commemorate the day, and then we had
to say our goodbyes. It was touching to see the students become such good
friends in only a day. Many students even exchanged social media to keep in
touch with each other.

The CHS staff, the students, and everyone involved with the trip were all so
kind. We want to thank them for being amazing guests. We are so happy that we
could meet everyone from CHS and hope that we can see them again soon. We made
so many great memories that day.
