本校が位置する和泉市と姉妹提携を結んでいる、米国ミネソタ州ブルーミントン市に、高校生と大学生の計10名が8月8日～24日の約2週間派遣され、本校生も1名参加しました。
現地では、ホームステイをしながら、姉妹都市交流行事や文化体験、観光などを行いました。
以下の英文は、参加した3年生の梶原千聖さんの感想文です。
This summer I went to Bloomington city in the state of Minnesota in America for two weeks, as one of the student delegation members from Izumi city. During my stay, I learned a lot of things.
First, I learned the importance of speaking English in daily life. My host family didn't understand Japanese at all, so I had to talk in English all the time. They tried to understand my English and I tried to understand their English. I was happy when we managed to communicate with each other.
Second, I found it important to work with friends. There were ten of us delegation members in total; some were university students and others high school students of different ages. We tried various things such as going shopping and visiting historical places. It was a lot of fun. They were good experiences for me.
In this way, while I was staying in America, I found the importance of communication and working with friends.
I strongly feel that anyone who wants to study English or study abroad should participate in this program next time.
